Worth travelling from Newcastle for !

We organised and attended our Mother’s special birthday at Skendleby Hall , where friends and family came from far and wide to enjoy this very special venue. It was perfect for our requirements, providing a luxurious place to spend special time together. We had children within the group ( one as young as 4 ) who were made very welcome at the Hall and the children throughly enjoyed their time playing together in the extensive outdoor space.
The kitchen was accessible to the dining room , which made catering and serving the 5 course birthday meal very easy.
Upon retiring to the drawing room for coffee , my sister and I realised we had forgotten to buy the ground coffee! Not a problem because one quick call to Amanda and she was on hand to immediately save the day. Thankyou Amanda!
In all we had a wonderful time together in the beautiful surroundings of Skendleby Hall. Certainly worth coming all the way from Newcastle for ! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others and hope to be back at the Hall again ( hopefully attending one of the fantastic yoga retreats held there) very soon.

Our favourite place so far!

Wow, wow, wow! Skendleby Hall is simply incredible! From the moment we drove onto the grounds, we felt like we had stepped straight into Downton Abbey!
The attention to detail throughout the estate is just beautiful, with every room having its own character and charm. Amanda was an absolute pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay.
When we entered the house we felt it would be the perfect setting for a murder mystery evening, and asked Amanda if she could help organise this and she was truly amazing. At very short notice, she arranged for a company to come in and create a customised murder mystery to create enough characters to accommodate all 28 of us. It made our stay even more special!
I loved that there are two games rooms as these kept everyone entertained, with a full-size snooker table and a pool table, there is also a board games room, but my favourite room by far is the music room, complete with a beautiful baby grand piano which i found hard to stay away from!
We had the most fantastic time and honestly couldn’t have chosen a more perfect setting for our extended family vacation.. we have stayed in nany stately homes over the years and this has definitely been our favourite one. . I’m already excited about coming back again — hopefully very soon!

Very special place

The Hall will always have a special place in my heart.
We recently hosted our wedding at the hall, it was perfect from start to finish. We had guests from all over the globe so it was important to us to have a comfortable base for everyone. Every room has a private bathroom and everywhere was clean and well kept. The hall was cool even though it was the height of August, some rooms were hot in the night but fans were supplied and extra fans purchased by the hosts when needed. The grounds are amazing with lots of games for the kids and big kids! We had various suppliers visit during the weekend and they found it easy to setup.
Amanda was an incredible host catering to our every need. Her an Adrian made our wedding weekend so special and took care of all our guests. We can’t wait to come back as often as possible. The hall is a special place and perfect for families.

Fantastic Accomodation

We had a wondeful stay for our family of 30, the host was warm and accomdating. The house was beautiful and I’m looking forward to staying again in the future.

Just got back from 3 days at skendleby hall.
Group of 25 ish.
The house was fabulous, the location is excellent. The host was so lovely I just can’t square it with the most recent negative review I just saw. The host was very attentive and responded quickly to our first day queries.
It’s a period house with lots of great attention to detail. But also, two modern kitchens and hot water on demand. (Lovely strong shower).
Our extended family has been taking a big house every year for about 15 years. This has been one of the better ones. Shame the hot tub was out of action due to the hosepipe ban but there was plenty of other entertainment in the house to keep us busy. (WiFi, sky, Sonos sound in every room, games room
Etc). Plenty of parking and an electric car charger on site. We will definitely be going back.

Such a lovely house

Such a lovely house and an even lovelier stay. Everything was perfect for our family of nearly 30 plus our dogs. The house had so many great amenities and the bedrooms were wonderful. The host, Amanda was very attentive and went out of her way to ensure we had the best stay possible. We cant wait to visit again!

Great house and fantastic host. This magnificent house has everything anyone could need. It’s spacious, well equipped and lovely decorated. We did a murder mystery too in the house and it was fantastic.

Absolutely incredible home

Absolutely incredible home, wonderful host, would recommend to any big group! Very private, loads of rooms with various activities, you won’t even need to leave the house once. Absolutely loved it here, can’t wait to come back

Lovely spacious house

We had the best time. The house is amazing with plenty of space. It was very well equipped with everything you could need. Amanda is amazing and really accommodating. We will definitely be coming back.

We recently stayed in Skendleby hall for a long weekend in June 2026, it was for a family gathering with the ages is being from 2 years to 82 years old,
We highly recommend this hall, it was absolutely perfect , the inside was beautiful and clean, and had everything you could possibly need, every bedroom was en suite, plenty of clean towels, and two well equipped kitchens! Out doors there was plenty of space to play, rounders , cricket and badminton , we even took a small paddling pool for the little ones, there was also a bbq/ eating area, and not forgetting the hot tub! A gent would come and water the plants and check the hot tub, we found him helpful if we needed to know anything! And finally Amanda was a perfect host, she was so easy to deal with, and nothing was to much trouble , we enjoyed it that much we have booked again for next year,

Had my 60th birthday celebration with…

Had my 60th birthday celebration with 30 friends and family. Amanda could not have done more as a hostess to make sure that it went well and that we all enjoyed the weekend. Rooms are amazing with loads of character and charm. The facilities are great too, from snooker to boules and loads in between. Would love an excuse to go back 😁

I chose Skendleby Hall for my 50th Birthday

I chose Skendleby Hall for my 50th birthday weekend, bringing together a large group of family and friends for a few days, and it is difficult to imagine anywhere that could have made the occasion feel more special.

The Hall itself is quite extraordinary. It has enormous character, beautiful rooms, wonderful grounds and seemingly endless corners to discover. It manages the unusual trick of feeling suitably grand for a special occasion while also becoming, remarkably quickly, a home. With a house full of friends, long dinners, drinks in the drawing room, games on the lawn and conversations that carried on far later than intended, it was exactly the atmosphere I had hoped for.

Lincolnshire Regency Society Review

The Lincolnshire Regency Society returned to Skendleby Hall for our annual Regency House Party on the weekend of 19th-21st June. This is the highlight in our calendar of events. The Hall has a calm and relaxing atmosphere, enhanced by its stunningly beautiful location. The rooms are light and airy: the decor is tasteful. The ample grounds give scope for outdoor activities such as croquet and battledore. We recommend the Hall as a weekend retreat.

We had the most amazing family…

We had the most amazing family gathering to celebrate two golden and one silver wedding anniversary at The Hall. So much to do for all the ages and being able to all sit down at one table to eat made it extra special. Very well equipped kitchens, lots of activities to enjoy and great suites of rooms for families with young children. Will be looking for another big celebration for an excuse to return!

Perfect location for a big group…

Perfect location for a big group gathering. We were there this last weekend for a hen party . 27 people in one house sounds a little bit chaos but it wasn’t. There’s lovely rooms to congregate together but also plenty of place to be on your own if you wish. Every bedroom was beautiful all with en suites. One room was also kitted out for any disabilities. There’s 2 kitchens so plenty of ovens, fridges dishwashers etc. The games room is great with a huge pool table also another room with lots of other games. There’s a hot tub outside and also a large grassed area where we did a sports afternoon. Plenty of parking for several cars . Will definitely recommend this place and would 100% go back.

Top class place

A fantastic venue. A great place for everyone to gather and catch up and celebrate. We had people travelling from Gran Canaria/ Ireland and other parts of England. The place is breathtaking and so homely. We felt as ease as soon as arriving. We had a great weekend and some of us already chatting about making it a yearly meet up at skendleby hall.

Such a special weekend!

Amazing from start to finish!
We booked the venue for a hen party weekend from Thursday to Sunday and had an absolute blast. The venue is even more impressive in person than the photos suggest.
There were 27 of us, and we were able to cook breakfast every morning and dinner every evening with plenty of space for everyone. Throughout the weekend we enjoyed games, name challenges, Traitors, a paint-and-sip session, sports day with rounders, and topped it all off with a Beyoncé-themed party.
It truly was a special weekend, made even better by the support from Amanda while planning and organising the event. She was always on hand to help and made the whole process so easy.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate and make unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

Skendleby Hall is truly exceptional

Skendleby Hall is truly exceptional. We stayed there last weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday, and everything about the experience was flawless. There were 26 of us, yet the house felt both wonderfully spacious and effortlessly luxurious. The interiors are beautifully designed with great attention to detail, and the grounds are simply stunning.
It’s a genuinely special place, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have spent such a memorable weekend there.
Amanda and Adrian were outstanding hosts who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran perfectly. Amanda was incredibly attentive, offering thoughtful suggestions and helpful guidance on planning the weekend, while Adrian treated us to a personalised wine tasting, which was a real highlight. They are a truly delightful couple.
The catering was excellent – the food was absolutely delicious – and the cleaning team were equally impressive. I couldn’t recommend this venue more highly. Thank you, Amanda and Adrian, for such a wonderful experience! Xx

Skendleby Hall is an incredible place for a gathering. We used it for a small corporate event and it struck just the right balance between professional and relaxing. The setting in the Lincolnshire Wolds is breathtaking, and the property has everything you need for a memorable stay. It felt private, spacious and very well suited for groups looking for something unique.

Our Christmas celebration at Skendleby Hall exceeded all expectations. The experience was faultless – from the delicious food and excellent wine to the impeccable hospitality throughout our stay.

The Most Perfect Wedding Weekend Imaginable

We just had our wedding at Skendleby Hall and it was beyond our wildest dreams. The house is absolutely stunning, and having all our closest family and friends stay under one roof for the entire weekend made it so special. Waking up in that beautiful mansion after our big day was magical. The Lincolnshire Wolds provided a breathtaking backdrop for our photos. The team were incredible and helped everything run seamlessly. It was more than a venue; it was an experience we’ll all cherish forever.

Excellent large group accommodation

Excellent large group accommodation – plenty of nice bedrooms (most ensuite!) and very well equipped catering set-up. The garden was a big hit with the kids and the location made a nice change for us, never having stayed in this part of the world before. We had a good day at the lovely Anderby Creek beach, and enjoyed the arcades in Skegness too. Amanda and Carol are the perfect hosts – communicative and nothing too much trouble.

We had our wedding at Skendleby hall on 04/06/2025, it was such a beautiful day in such a beautiful setting. It was perfect for what we wanted, and we weren’t rushed into one day which was amazing, we had a few days to relax and take it in with our nearest and dearest. A day I will always cherish.

Wonderful weekend stay at fabulous Skendleby Hall…

We stayed at Skendleby Hall for a birthday celebration. Skendleby Hall exceeded our expectations with its historical charm and modern comforts. Amanda, was very helpful and accommodating when making the booking, and Carol, Housekeeper, who lives close by made us feel very welcome and was happy to answer any queries.
The facilities were fabulous including snooker room, games room, barbecue area and the beautiful grounds.
We had a disabled relative who was very well catered for in a downstairs bedroom with disabled facilities in the bathroom.
There is a pub within 5 minutes’ walking distance and Skegness and Mablethorpe are not too far away should you wish to spend time at the beach! We would have loved to have stayed longer and would highly recommend Skendleby Hall.

I have just spent a weekend at this…

I have just spent a weekend at this wonderful country manor house and it is just perfect for relaxation and recharging. Amanda is so helpful and the hall is just so beautifully decorated. I slept in the chapel room and it was just so comfortable, had a meal at the local pub and relaxed in the hot tub enjoying the gorgeous view and sunset over the Lincolnshire Wolds. Will definitely be back again, thank you Amanda, 5 stars xxx

Wonderful family getaway…

We had a wonderful family getaway weekend at Skendleby Hall. We were a party of 24 people aged from 11 months to 90 years young and the venue had something for everyone. Games to suit all ages, facilities to cater for every need. Beautiful surroundings, plenty to enjoy in the immediate area and beyond. Would highly recommend.

Experienced a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend at Skendleby Hall. The bedroom was warm and comfortable and the hall has recently been redecorated with new carpets throughout. The food was exceptionally good especially the Asian afternoon tea which was an event as well as a meal.
The classes on offer over the weekend included yoga, diamond light therapy, energy work, and each day finished with a sound bath. These were delivered by friendly professional therapists.

This was the first Retreat Weekend at Skendleby Hall and also my first retreat.
The accommodation in this beautiful hall was warm comfortable and exquisite.
The grounds and views are spectacular.
The food was delicious and extremely plentiful, I especially enjoyed both the traditional and Asian afternoon teas.
I did not know what to expect from a Retreat but all the therapists were great at introducing their therapies and enabling you to take part.
Sound bathing and chanting were definitely soothing and I am trying to utilise the breathing techniques.

I absolutely loved my stay at Skendleby…

I absolutely loved my stay at Skendleby Hall for the recent Retreat Weekend. A very homely and welcoming vibe. I experienced 2 different sound baths from Hannah and Tara, along with somatic breathwork with Alex and somatic yoga with Liz. A devine dip in the hot tub soaking in the views and calmness. To top it all off, we were incredibly spoilt by the onsite chef Fran with delicious freshly cooked food. I met a group of incredible ladies who all had their own story to tell. I feel very blessed. Simply Stunning

The whole experience was simply stunning, from arriving at the daffodil filled driveway, the opening class and final closing ceremony.

The whole hall is absolutely gorgeous, public spaces filled with unique antique furniture, bedrooms individually decorated, luxurious bedding and an overall feel of opulence.

The food prepared with love by a wonderfully talented chef, paella, Asian afternoon tea, traditional afternoon tea and so much more delighted the tastebuds.

The sessions were delivered by highly experienced therapists and healers in the most restful of places.

The uninterrupted views out to Wolds were gorgeous especially when sitting in the hot tub.

I arrived feeling very tense and stressed and by the following morning could already feel the tension releasing. On Monday morning I felt like a different person.

I would highly recommend these retreats and everyone involved was wonderful.

A magical experience.

Skendleby Hall is a magical place to stay, it overlooks stunning views of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The bedrooms are decorated to a very high standard and beautifully furnished. Providing the comfort, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Amanda and her team were very welcoming, and their aim was to make my stay enjoyable. They provided a person-centred approach. The Chef used healthy local grown produce to cook delicious meals, especially the afternoon tea and experiencing Asian food. Amanda was happy to provide historical information about the Hall and her vision for future events, which i certainly am interested in returning. I had attended the Retreat Weekend offering therapeutic Yoga, and so much more. I made new acquaintances and hope our paths will cross again. A big thank you to Amanda and her team, you are a special crew! 😊

Golden Wedding…

We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary with family and friends over 2 nights in early March 2025 at Skendleby Hall. It was an excellent venue for such a celebration. There were 20 of us, including 3 young children, ranging from 2 years old to mid 70s. We all had a wonderful time. There was plenty to keep the youngsters occupied. Skendleby has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is extremely comfortable. All the bedrooms are very well appointed and have their own character. There was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchens were well equipped. The drawing, music and TV rooms were excellent and all were put to good use. The drawing room was wonderful as a centrepiece for our get together and the grand piano in the music room came into its own before our anniversary dinner. (Clarks Caterers recommended by Skendleby were superb). The whole event was a very pleasant experience for everyone and Skendleby Hall was a very important part. We are very pleased we chose there for our Golden Wedding and can really recommend it. Many thanks to Skendleby.

28 of us

28 of us, for most of whom this was a second visit. Twelve years ago we enjoyed a joint birthday gathering for two 70 year olds. It was marvellous then and even better now.

All enjoyed the new facilities and very much the new decor and increased comfort. Most of us travelled over 200 miles for this great re-union.

We will be back for the first great-grand child.

Amazing Property

I’ve never actually reviewed Skendleby but I shall now. Having been to their other property, Pine Lodge for a number of special birthdays and unfortunately, it’s now no longer. I got in contact with Ruth about Skendleby for my gather in-laws birthday. Skendleby is absolutely gorgeous, lovely bedrooms, plenty of space and much more. The grounds that Skendleby sit on are just lovely. Would highly recommend to everyone looking at a special gathering. Actually visited back in 2022!

Wow what a holiday!

Wow what a holiday! Am so thrilled we found Skendleby Hall as our venue to celebrate my dads 70th birthday, it was absolutely perfect. We had 19 adults, 5 children and 3 dogs and had the most amazing time. I’m sure there were rooms we didn’t even have time to use!! Amanda was simply the best host, I was a pain as needed constant reassurance through an earlier blip with a different holiday company and Amanda truly made me so at ease with the booking all the way through. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and I know the family feel the same way.

60th Birthday Weekend

This is a beautiful house and gardens. There is plenty to occupy everyone of all ages. We came to celebrate two 60th birthdays and everyone had a great time and would love to come back. The Blacksmiths arms pub just up the road is highly recommened. We will be coming back for another visit. I would definately recommend this beautiful house and gardens to anyone.

We had our wedding weekend at the stunning skendleby hall last weekend.
It was absolutely perfect. The owners Ruth & David was so helpful, the setting is wonderful and the facilities excellent.
Guests from far and wide all loved their stay.

Visitors from Canada

As visitors from Canada, our weekend wedding experience at this large country home was very special. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. Beds and linens were top quality and many rooms came with splendid views. Owners were super helpful. The beach is a fun, 20 minute drive away. Highly recommended for all ages. We were impressed.

80th birthday

From the moment we contacted Skendleby to the moment we sadly had to leave and go home, it was a great experience. Answered any questions promptly and were on hand throughout to make it a very memorable family get together for an 80th birthday. The snooker room is amazing, the grounds beautiful and the dining room, kitchens, hot tub, sauna…well, all great. Wasn’t a single bedroom that wasn’t spacious or full of character and the whole propertly is really well looked after. If you can, go.

Amazing wedding venue!

We had our wedding here the weekend before Christmas and it was perfect. The venue was beautiful anyway but was also decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations. Ruth and David were so easy to work with and very supportive to make our big day special. The rooms for guests were lovely and had a real home from home feel. I especially appreciated the hot tub the day after the wedding to relax 😌. I can not wait to have another family get together at the Hall.

A beautifully maintained house, which has been thoughtfully equipped to provide entertainment for guests of all ages! We had a wonderful family gathering!

A great space, the photos do not do it justice. Beautiful in and out with great hosts who are always there to help with any questions.

We also used Chocolate Fairy for a catered meal in which was outstanding.

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding. It was a wonderful day and the scenery around the Hall was perfect for photos. Ruth and David were brilliant at making sure everything went smoothly on the day. We look forward to visiting again… this time for a family holiday!

An amazing holiday house!

We, 22 of us ranging in age from 7 to 77, have just spent an amazing week at Skendleby Hall. It is a fantastic holiday property, it’s large, it’s rooms are spacious, there’s room for everyone to find a favourite place. The bedrooms, all 13 of them, were beautifully decorated and often included antique items and the beds were very comfortable. Downstairs we kept finding more and more rooms often containing lovely Persian rugs. The kitchens, 2 of them, are very well equipped even down to 2 different types of cocktail shakers! We need to return to enjoy it all over again.
